Facebook…Are You Engaging?

Out of curiousity… are the Social Media platforms helping your business?  Are your “peeps” that like your Facebook business page, engaging with you?

I have been browsing around quite a few Facebook business pages, only to see so many small… Continue reading

Nip & Tuck

Several days ago, I attended a “girlie glam party” with a couple of my friends. It had been years since the last time I allowed myself to just let go, and let someone else be the creator of my image.  I went to this thing, not because I thought I needed a makeover but I did it because a friend’s daughter was in town, and needed subjects to practice on.

Authenticity in the Workplace

In order for CF Web Professionals to “grow”, I found it was necessary for me to embark on some of my own growth through personal development . Nothing worse than your company growing and expanding around you while you are sitting stagnant with the same “small thoughts”.

Time to take action…

Web Hosting — Too Many Choices!

When you decide to go into business you have to pay your State money for the use of your business name. However; just because you paid fees for your business name,  doesn’t mean that the state gives you an office  building to conduct your business from.  Right?  Same thing goes on the internet.

Most of you already know what a Domain name or URL is, (for those of you that don’t, this is your name on the internet. www.YOURNAME.com). As above, just because you purchased a domain name, does not mean you automatically have hosting for your website. You must purchase both.

If you do a search on web hosting companies, you will be bombarded with so many choices!  How do you know which is a good host, and which is a bad host? How does one choose?

Start Conversating…

Is that a typo? Start doing what?

I’ll say it again.  Start conversating! I know, sound’s like I’m being silly or trying to be cute! BUT, for those of you that know me, know that I use that phrase quite frequently. We all know there’s no such word as “conversating”, but the meaning behind what I’m saying IS serious business.

Using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other forms of Social Media, the idea is to build relationships. The only way to do that is to engage in conversations with others. One sided conversations don’t work too well.

Clean the Website Clutter

Can a cluttered website hurt your business? You betcha it can!

I don’t want to believe that other people wouldn’t think the way I do. When I go to a website looking for something, I want to be able to find it. I don’t want to have to sift through all the “stuff” to find the one thing I’m looking for. Do you agree?

Let’s look at some real simple things that can help to keep your site from looking cluttered. Continue reading

Does FaceBook Replace Your Website?

Last week one of our clients who has been with us for many years, sent us an email telling us all about a seminar she went to where the topic was about FaceBook and how great it is. Continue reading

Our Experiment…

How important is blogging and social media to your business?
In June of this year I decided to experiment and increased our blogging – by writing on an average of 3 to 5 blogs per week and then posted them to FaceBook and Twitter. The blog articles where mostly geared to our business sector and informed our readers on problems with solutions, statistics, and future development of internet web marketing.
By doing so, some remarkable things happened to us and our business!

Battologist…Are You One?

I was surfing the web this morning, for now I can't remember what – when I ran into the word: battologist. It piqued my interest. I thought maybe the word meant, the study of battle. So I went to www.dictionary.com… Continue reading

Stylin’ and Profilin’…

When searching for a business online, so often I find out that they are not “profiling”.  Some companies hide behind a toll free number and/or a post office box. I’m thinking that there must be some kind of magic behind that toll free number.  When I see this, it makes me go “hmmm… their office must be in never-never land where addresses just don’t exist” or worse yet, “is this company legit? There’s no tangible contact information”. If you’re using a PO Box because you work out of your home, fine (we used to work out of our home for a while). Just tell people…don’t hide.

Hey! All you business owners, you need to be “profiling”. It’s the “in” thing to do… no it’s the right thing to do.

In today’s marketplace, being transparent adds so much creditability to your business and to yourself. If you don’t show your name and the location of your business – then you must be hiding or have something you don’t what people to know about you. Are you possibly trying to pull the wool over someone’s eyes? Continue reading
